"Thank you Eric for your friendship. As a Traffic Sergeant in Dunedin you were one of the very few who, after I had been seriously assaulted in 1984 just before Queens Birthday Weekend, supported me and my wife Daphne throughout my recovery. You got me back into model trains and there were many a night where we slapped plaster around your layout and talked rubbish. I will always value your friendship". Trevor Buchanan
"Diane, our thoughts are with you on the passing of Eric. We were so shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. It was always great to have a chat with Eric".Diane & Lyndon Chandler
"We are saddened to hear of Eric's sudden passing. We have known you for 55 years We went to your beautiful Wedding to Diane, kept in touch for all those years. Our visit in March to see you both was special spending the day all together. We will still keep in touch with Diane. Friendship is a privilege, and its been a privilege to have been your friend. Love to All The Family". Pam and Allan Davies, New Plymouth
"We were so devastated to be told of Eric's sudden death and to come to the realization that our friend and colleague of 35 years had passed. Over the years Eric Davy and I have been great friends and colleagues. Dianne and Lee also became very firm friends over the years and to Dianne and the Davy family, be aware of our sympathy at this time. We regret, due to my health problems, we are unable to travel to the funeral but will follow the service online and we will be thinking of you all". Selwyn and Lee Law
